Academic Integrity Policy Attestation
By entering my name below, I affirm that I have completed the Chamberlain Academic Integrity Tutorial and commit to following the Academic Integrity Policy of Chamberlain College of Nursing.
Answer: Kimberly Morton
Academic Integrity Question #1
What is one example of plagiarism that was mentioned in the Chamberlain Academic Integrity Tutorial?
One example of plagiarism identified in the tutorial is submitting another person’s work under one’s own name. This act demonstrates intentional dishonesty by presenting material not created by the student as original work. Such behavior undermines personal and academic integrity. As nursing students, maintaining ethical standards in education mirrors the professional accountability expected in practice. Authentic learning requires completing assignments independently to enhance critical thinking and personal growth.
Academic Integrity Question #2
Other than not sharing passwords, what is one way students can avoid plagiarism that was mentioned in the Chamberlain Academic Integrity Tutorial?
Another strategy to prevent plagiarism is securing personal work. Students are advised not to save assignments on public or shared devices to avoid unauthorized access. If another individual uses that material, both parties could be penalized. Additionally, paraphrasing effectively—restating concepts in one’s own words while demonstrating understanding—is crucial. Properly citing all sources according to APA guidelines ensures that credit is given to original authors, promoting ethical scholarship.
Self-Evaluation: Challenges
What are your greatest challenges with time management?
My primary time management challenges include balancing multiple roles, adhering consistently to my schedule, and managing unexpected interruptions. Working two jobs while raising my daughter has created competing demands. Although I recently left one job to dedicate more time to school, I still face challenges maintaining focus. Early in the semester, I relied on small time blocks such as lunch breaks or waiting during my daughter’s dance class to complete readings. While I have adjusted to weekly planning, unanticipated delays at work or last-minute schedule changes often disrupt my routine.
Another challenge involves personal well-being. I frequently prioritize professional and academic tasks over rest and self-care. This imbalance sometimes results in fatigue, which reduces productivity. Although my daughter’s summer break has allowed for a more flexible evening routine, I recognize the importance of setting aside time for relaxation and health.
NR 351 Week 2 Time Management Plan Assignment
To strengthen my time management, I plan to start waking up earlier for academic tasks. Shifting study hours to mornings will free evenings for family activities and personal downtime. I must also learn to decline additional work shifts that interfere with coursework. Improved boundary-setting will allow me to maintain academic success while fostering family balance and self-care.
Self-Evaluation: Strategies
What effective strategies will you use to overcome these challenges?
To improve my time management, I will adopt several strategies:
Weekly Planning: At the start of each week, I will use a planner to outline academic, professional, and personal priorities. Visual scheduling will help me identify potential conflicts and allocate sufficient time for coursework.
Task Prioritization: I will separate urgent tasks from less critical ones, ensuring that assignments are completed ahead of deadlines.
Limiting Extra Shifts: I will refrain from accepting additional work shifts that conflict with study schedules. This approach will safeguard time for coursework and rest.
Active Engagement: Participating in class discussions and peer interactions will keep me motivated and provide new strategies from others’ experiences.
Self-Care Integration: Incorporating regular breaks, adequate sleep, and family activities into my schedule will reduce stress and enhance overall productivity.
