Good morning, everyone. I am Wilfrid Louis, the nursing leader, and I am here to conduct a training session on the telehealth-integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Today’s session aims to introduce this new technology to our organization, Blue Ridge Medical Center, and equip you with the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize it. Throughout this webinar, we’ll address any queries you may have and facilitate a smooth transition to the new system, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction. Purpose of the Telehealth Integrated EHR System

The telehealth-integrated EHR system combines telehealth technology with electronic health records to provide virtual care, consultations, and treatment, improving record accuracy and patient engagement (Haleem et al., 2021). Studies suggest it enhances care coordination and accessibility, particularly for chronic patients (Davidson, 2020). Patients can access medical information, receive remote monitoring, and engage in informed decision-making, ultimately improving healthcare quality and efficiency (Burton et al., 2022).

Use of the Telehealth-Integrated EHRs

Healthcare providers can offer virtual consultations, diagnose conditions, and monitor patients remotely, reducing waiting times and infection risks (Jin et al., 2020). Patients gain access to medical records, treatment plans, and remote monitoring, facilitating active participation in their healthcare (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2021).

Downsides or Limitations of Telehealth-Integrated EHRs

Challenges include technical difficulties, security concerns, and limitations in physical examinations, potentially impacting patient-provider relationships and care continuity (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2021; Mubaraki et al., 2021).

Risks and Benefits of Telehealth-Integrated EHR System

The system offers increased access to care and remote monitoring but raises privacy, literacy, and connectivity concerns (Haimi, 2023; Nouri et al., 2020).

Requirement for Successful Deployment

Critical factors for successful deployment include robust technological infrastructure, comprehensive training, and patient education (Pandit et al., 2023; Liang et al., 2022).

Patient Confidentiality and Privacy

Safeguards such as end-to-end encryption, data audits, and informed consent ensure patient data security and compliance with HIPAA regulations (Basil et al., 2022).

Evaluation and Criteria for Assessing the Effectiveness of Technology

Evaluation criteria include patient satisfaction, data security, provider efficiency, and financial impact, measured through surveys and comparative analysis (Adane et al., 2019; da Fonseca et al., 2021).

On-going Training and Technical Support

Continuous training, workshops, and IT support are essential for end-users to navigate the system effectively (Dutta & Hwang, 2020).
