Good afternoon Mr. Anderson,

My name is Macey Mexico, and I am the Project Manager for CapraTek’s Alfred software update project. I am writing to propose a professional development activity that CapraTek’s project teams and I will be organizing. The focus of this activity will be on innovative ideas, practices, and technologies that enhance communication among global teams, with a strong emphasis on the use of communication platforms such as social media.

After consulting with various stakeholders and previous executive sponsors, I believe you would be an ideal candidate to sponsor this event. We are scheduled to hold this activity on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, and we would greatly appreciate your presence and sponsorship.

The need for social media platform training has become increasingly apparent due to a 42% rise in virtual social interactions in the U.S. since the onset of COVID-19 (Statista, 2021). This rise encompasses platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and other video platforms like House Party, Microsoft Teams, and FaceTime. Given this trend, CapraTek and many other global companies have recognized the high demand for training on these platforms. Such training is crucial as it addresses the modern demands for communication, helping global companies to enhance their engagement with customers and employees, thereby creating more sales opportunities and improving overall digital security (Zamolo, 2022).

Recent challenges faced by workplaces include the need for virtual assistants, new technology for team applications, increased customer use of social media, and solutions for digital security (Zamolo, 2022). Communication platforms can play a vital role in overcoming these challenges, fostering business growth, and building global brands. For instance, 65% of businesses utilize social media to increase their leads over time (Bhattacharya, 2021). Effective use of these platforms allows companies to engage with potential consumers more effectively, with 71% of customers likely to recommend a brand after a positive social media service experience (Bhattacharya, 2021).

An example of successful social media use is Olaplex, which has significantly increased its Instagram followers from 1.4 million to 2.2 million and gained 55.4 thousand followers on TikTok by focusing on paid ads, hashtags, and engaging content (Monillos, 2021). Their success illustrates the potential benefits of effective social media strategies, which will be explored further during our event.
