Population and Sampling

The study examines the disparities in care provision for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) residing in rural and non-rural regions. Specifically, it investigates the utilization of services among families of children with ASD across different geographical settings. The research focuses on a cohort of children diagnosed with ASD who reside in rural areas of a southern state. Sampling Method

Random sampling was employed for participant selection, ensuring each caregiver had an equal chance of being included in the study. Participants were required to complete an online survey assessing the accessibility and quality of services available to them. The study recruited 415 caregivers from a southeastern state, all of whom had a child diagnosed with ASD. The selection of caregivers with children diagnosed with ASD serves as a defining characteristic of the sample, crucial for understanding the variations in services across rural and non-rural areas.
